Rascal Flatts Visit Children's Hospital

In October 2011 the men of Rascal Flatts ... Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney spent some time visiting and performing for the children and families at the Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN. This is a ritual that they have been part of for several years and it is a heart warming and  emotional day for each of these three men. Over the years Rascal Flatts has raised approximately $3 million through concerts and auctions for the hospital; but more than money Rascal Flatts has built relationships with the staff and given their time and love to the many children and families that have crossed their path along the way.

Watch the video below for a heartwarming look at a day with Rascal Flatts and the children of Vanderbilt.

Rascal Flatts Fan Club Annual Christmas Toy Drive Needs Your Help

Ok everyone it is that time again!! A little reminder that Rascal Flatts has a fantastic Fan Club with some really wonderful people. Among them, Velvet Arrington or ~V~ as she is lovingly known.  She heads up a toy drive every year for the children and families that spend their Christmas at the Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN.  ~V~ Packs up her car and personally delivers these items from her home in South Carolina to the hospital each year. She can't do this without our support. Please send her a little something off her list.  No matter how big or little the gift is everything counts. Let's make ~V~ rent a U-Haul for this year's trip :)

One more thing, the Christmas season is celebrated differently by many cultures. Please refrain from using any specific phrase such as "Merry Christmas" on any item or card you send.  The children and their families my not celebrate the season as Christmas but as Hanukkah for example.  A more general greeting such as "Happy Holiday's" or "Season's Greetings" work well in all cultures :)

If you are interested and would like to be a part of this beautiful cause, please email ~V~ at arringnl@gmail.com for her mailing address and any questions you may have.  Your contribution will brighten the lives of so many.

Deadline to have items to ~V~ is Dec. 10th, 2011... Please ask others to get involved as well.

Rascal Flatts Surprised by Opry Invitation

Congratulations Rascal Flatts!

Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney newest members of the Grand Ole Opry

Last night, September 27, 2011 Vince Gill, long time friend and hero to Joe Don Rooney, Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus appeared on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry to hand Joe Don the guitar that he would use for the next song. The surprised Joe Don announced "I got a new guitar tech by the way guys" to Gary and Jay as Gill made his way to the circle.  Vince Gill then explains that he played golf with the three about a week ago and he "kicked the crap outta them" so he was there to collect his winnings of $500.  After a minute of promising to he would not leave the stage without his money Vince becomes serious about his true mission. He tells his friends that they Rascal Flatts have been chosen to become the newest members of the Grand Ole Opry family. It was obvious that the men of Rascal Flatts were overcome with emotion as the packed house of the Opry roared with approval.

Watch the video below to see Vince Gill surprise long time friends Joe Don Rooney, Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus with the news that Rascal Flatts and their fans have longed to hear.

In one very sweet short second Rascal Flatts went from being the Special Guest to becoming the newest members of the Grand Ole Opry family.  Watch the second half of this historic evening as Rascal Flatts are joined by Vince Gill performing Gill's song Whenever You Come Around.

Rascal Flatts will be officially inducted Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the 86th Birthday Bash for the Grand Ole Opry.  There are a few tickets left that may be purchased here .

A final note to Gary, Jay and Joe Don ...
There are not adequate words to express what this achievement means to your fans ... your fam and the pride we felt, the tears of joy we shed as your friend Vince Gill extended the Opry invitation. We believe in you and your gift of music touches our hearts and souls. We laugh and cry embraced by the lyrics and melodies you have given us. We love deeper and fight battles harder encouraged by the words you share through your musical expressions that are passionate and personal to our very lives.  You have given us so much and our response is to love you, holding you in our hearts as though each of you are a part of us.  To be a part of the Opry family is an honor that we have wanted for you and to us, your fam, this acknowledgement is as priceless as each of  you.  Congratulations!!

Everything Is UNSTOPPABLE

Have you noticed that ever since Rascal Flatts put out the Unstoppable album and even more so after the Olympics featured the song; the word UNSTOPPABLE has become more prevalent in advertising.  It seems that everything is UNSTOPPABLE now from cars, watches, movies, shoes to the people that use these products.  Also, when the ad is in print the word UNSTOPPABLE is almost always in either a different color, font or both. I really find this very interesting, has Rascal Flatts along with their Olympic ties had an impact on media advertising by popularizing a word that has such a powerful meaning?  Has UNSTOPPABLE been out there, used this frequently and I just never notice it before? Quite honestly when I hear the word UNSTOPPABLE I automatically think Rascal Flatts and it grabs my attention, is that a coincidence or premeditated by advertiser?  I have to admit, I looked around some before posting this and I did find there was use of the word UNSTOPPABLE in advertising prior to the album release but it just seems that I hear or see it more now.

Ok this may just be my imagination but regardless, I do seem to perk up when I hear the word UNSTOPPABLE I guess I am hoping that I will see or hear Rascal Flatts along with the phrase.

Well, this is just my observation and I thought I would share with anyone that may possibly have had the same thought.

Music City Walk Of Fame Induction Video

On November 7, 2010 Rascal Flatts was inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame.  It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Nashville, Tennessee and I was fortunate enough to be there that day.

This video is not the best, there is a lot of movement ~ every time I moved or anyone in the crowd moved near me it caused my camera to move, add to that I was using my zoom a factor that exaggerated the movement. Also, at one point there is a gentleman behind me on the phone that can be heard. Even so, with all the imperfections I wanted to publish this so others would have the opportunity to hear what Jay, Gary and Joe Don said as they each addressed the crowd that was there for this event.

I know this is not NEW news but I wanted to share it. I hope you enjoy the video of this historic event. :)

Rascal Flatts Among Contributing Artist On Countrypolitan Duets

Rascal Flatts has contributed back up vocals to You're The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me featuring Ray Price on the album Countrypolitan Duets by Anna Wilson.

The album is a project by Anna Wilson and her husband Monty Powell that has duets featuring Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and more.

From GAC's review it states what so many are surely thinking when they listen to this retro country / jazz album.
Though Rascal Flatts’ R&B side shines while providing backing vocal harmonies for Anna and Ray, we’re left wanting to hear Flatts’ frontman Gary LeVox try his hand at jazz and deliver a line solo.
Great album for your collection! Available on iTunes now.
