Cousins have more in common than Rascal Flatts

We all know that Rascal Flatts consist of cousins Jay DeMarcus and Gary LeVox along with their good friend and I believe adopted family member Joe Don Rooney. Well, the cousins Jay and Gary have more in common than Rascal Flatts.

First they were both born in Columbus, Ohio and they both have the middle name Wayne. Plus both are married to women with the middle name Leigh and their wedding dates are the same, both married on May 15th...different years. And come January 2011 they will both have children with the same middle name of Leigh, which is as stated earlier the little girls mothers middle name.

I just thought it was interesting how that all worked out :)

Jay and Allison DeMarcus reveal baby's name

Country Weekly reports that Jay and Allison have announced the name of their little girl expected in January. Their little bundle of joy will be named Madeline Leigh with Maddy being the name she is know by.

According to Country Weekly Jay has told them, "Leigh is Ally's middle name and we finally settled on a [first] name that we both liked together," and he is more than ready for the birth of his first child. Jay states "This is a part of my life I've wanted for some time and just had to wait a little longer to get there." and "I'm really excited and can't wait to kiss [her] face off,"

We will be watching and waiting for more from Jay and Allison as the expected arrival date of their little girl gets closer.

Rascal Flatts Gets Country Weekly Cover

I am so excited I just have to share with everyone! Country Weekly has tweeted that Rascal Flatts has the cover issue November 15, 2010! I don't know about you but I will be buying out my local store *silly grin*

I have sent letters and tweeted them links to my facebook group and I know I am NOT the reason but I like to think that myself along with all the members of my group and the fans that are not members that have been campaigning for this are at least partially responsible.

Going to go do a Happy Dance around the house now!

Congratulations Rascal Flatts!!!

Just for fun...

This is old...2 years actually and is specail to me. I had just completed a mission that was posted in the Flatt Dog Pound encouraging people to vote for Rascal Flatts for Favorite Band, Duo or Group and Favorite Album (Still Feels Good).
Remember this banner?

Photobucket

Along with others fan club members and Rascal Flatts' Street Team I posted it on MySpace, Facebook and Bebo doing what I could to help the guys win. We all worked hard on this mission and Rascal Flatts walked away with the Favorite Band, Duo or Group Award (they still are to me :)) It was also at that time I was given the honor of being their North Carolina Street Team Leader, so when they did this video I was officially one of their Street Team Leaders and a very proud member of their Flatt Dog Pound.

Like I said earlier, this video is old and the flattdogpound.com does not work right now...IDK why?

Just thought I would share a fond memory.

Rascal Flatts Parties It Up in Las Vegas

I believe most Rascal Flatts fans have seen the new video for Why Wait. You may already know Gary, Jay and Joe Don went to Vegas for a few days to party with a wide variety of individual that as you will see made cameo appearances in the new video.  They also performed music so we got some of them doing that in this video as well.  The video is a fun spoof of The Hangover and from the looks of things Rascal Flatts had a good time making it.

So if you have not see it, check it out here ....

So what do you think? How many of the cameo's can you name? Leave a comment and share your thoughts.

Great Day in Columbus, Ohio

Previously I posted that Rascal Flatts along with Hershey's would be treating tailgating fans to S'mores before the OSU game on September 11, 2010 and then singing the National Anthem during pregame activities.

I am happy to report that it was a successful day for both Rascal Flatts and OSU Buckeye's.  As you see from this photo Rascal Flatts was able to complete their joint mission with Hershey's, then they performed beautifully and Ohio won!

"We're doing the build it, wrap it and grill it with S'mores," LeVox explained of his S'mores making strategy.

What a great day for Rascal Flatts members Joe Don Rooney a native of Oklahoma, Jay DeMarcus and Gary LeVox both from Ohio, as they becoming the first people to ever sing the National Anthem during the pregame festivities.  I am sure this day held special meaning to Gary who is an alumni of Ohio State University.

"There is nothing like Ohio State Buckeye football," said lead singer Gary LeVox "Especially for Jay and I being back home, we grew up right here and we bleed scarlet and gray."

Regulars on the Ohio State campus, attending day practices this year with the approval of their close friend, Jim Tressel. Before the game Gary LeVox was heard joking ...

"We've drawn up a few plays [for him]"

And on a more serious note he also noted ...

"Coach Tressel is one of the finest men on the planet. He's not only a great coach but his heart and who he is as a person is actually maybe more magnificent than his coaching abilities."

~ Congratulations Rascal Flatts & OSU Buckeyes well done! ~

Never Forget

Like so many I will never forget where I was when I heard the news on September 11, 2001.  I sat at my desk with the radio on in disbelief and shock at what was happening. When the report of the first plane was issued like so many others I thought it was a terrible air catastrophe and prayers began immediately. Then the next plane and then another and another.  My disbelief, my shock soon turned to fear. The questions started running through my mind as my fear of what could happen next begin to surface. Is this only the beginning? Will there be more cities randomly hit by our own aircraft? Who is doing this, who is attacking my country?  WHY?  I don't understand why would someone do this? This was a cowardly act, attacking innocent civilians who were sacrificed for what? What evil force was behind this? Please, make it stop!

Next my thoughts turned closer to home. The are military bases in North Carolina and I have family at Pope Air Force Base in Fort Bragg. Would they be attacked as well?  My mind reassures me that they must be on alert by this time. They are elite, they are equipped and trained, they will be ok. I believed that to be true, no matter what happened next.

Then I saw the images...the devastation, the people. My heart broke. The innocent lives that were being lost before my very eyes. Numb from shock I sat and stared at the TV not wanting to believe what was happening. Tears .... all I could do was watch as the tears ran down my face.

Out of no where, the shock broke long enough for me to thank God for my family. They were safe. I felt selfish but couldn't help it.

I spent the next several days watching the footage, over and over wondering how this could have happened.  Listening for the report that more survivors had been found. Praying for families I didn't know and for God to bless the souls of those that had been lost.  I thanked God for every life that had been spared, I kissed my kids more and told people that I loved them. We all plan for the future, thinking I'll do that tomorrow, but this horrendous day instilled in me, you are not guaranteed a breath beyond the one you just took so be sure to let the ones around you know what they mean to you.

I want to close by saying, I will never forget that day. My prayers go out to the many families that lost loved ones. The children that will never know a parent, the husbands and wives that said their last goodbye that morning,  the moms, dads, brothers and sisters that saw lives cut short.  And the best friends who lost confidants and childhood friends, you are remembered too.

I will never forget your loss that September morning....your country will never forget.

Join Rascal Flatts B1 Campaign for World Suicide Prevention Day

Please join Rascal Flatts and the Jason Foundation, Inc B1 campaign. Click on the link below for more information and to view their public announcement video

The following article was found at Tulsa World
As ambassadors for The Jason Foundation Inc., country music act Rascal Flatts have recorded a special public service announcement for World Suicide Prevention Day on Friday.

The day is a worldwide day of commitment and action to prevent suicides.

On average, almost 3,000 people commit suicide daily, the organization claims via its official website. For every person who completes a suicide, 20 or more may attempt to end their lives.

In America, suicide is the third leading cause of death for American youths.

Rascal Flatts, featuring Picher native Joe Don Rooney, is reaching out asking teens and their families to learn more about the problem of suicide and how to make a difference in families, communities and in the world.

To learn more Rascal Flatts involvement in the B1 Project go to www.rascalflattsb1.com. The purpose of the B1 Project is to educate youth and students on recognizing the warning signs of youth suicide and how to help a friend, the organization's official website shows.

Rascal Flatts -- Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney -- have been involved in many charitable endeavors throughout their career and believe in the gift of giving back. Along the way they’ve become avid supporters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt (where they have donated nearly 3 million dollars), the American Red Cross and more.

Newest little Rascal

Joe Don Rooney and Tiffany Fallon have a new member in the Rooney home.  Their daughter, Raquel Blue Rooney was born September 7, 2010.
