Music City Walk Of Fame Induction Video

On November 7, 2010 Rascal Flatts was inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame.  It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Nashville, Tennessee and I was fortunate enough to be there that day.

This video is not the best, there is a lot of movement ~ every time I moved or anyone in the crowd moved near me it caused my camera to move, add to that I was using my zoom a factor that exaggerated the movement. Also, at one point there is a gentleman behind me on the phone that can be heard. Even so, with all the imperfections I wanted to publish this so others would have the opportunity to hear what Jay, Gary and Joe Don said as they each addressed the crowd that was there for this event.

I know this is not NEW news but I wanted to share it. I hope you enjoy the video of this historic event. :)

Rascal Flatts will receive yet another well deserved honor in Nashville November 7, 2010 as they become one of 48 artist inducted to Music City Walk of Fame.  Their sidewalk marker will be unveiled in the Walk Of Fame Ceremony at 2pm.  The ceremony is free to the public. Check out previous ceremonies to see what it's like. If you can be in Nashville that day it is a once in a lifetime event you won't want to miss.

Congratulations Rascal Flatts!!

Rascal Flatts Joins Elite Walk of Fame Class

Rascal Flatts and four members of the Country Music Hall of Fame will all receive additional recognition next month when they’re embedded in the Music City Walk of Fame in downtown Nashville.

Little Jimmy Dickens, Kris Kristofferson, Mel Tillis and the late Eddy Arnold — all of whom have bronze plaques nearby in the Hall of Fame — will have their names etched in the pavement alongside Rascal Flatts Nov. 7. So will the late Bobby Hebb, a Nashville-based artist who earned a 1960s hit with “Sunny.”

A project of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Walk of Fame is sponsored by GAC, Gibson Guitars, Metro Parks and the City of Nashville.

The sidewalk markers are set in a prime location. Walk of Fame Park is located on Demonbreun between 4th Street and 5th Street. Across the street on the southern side of the park is the Country Music Hall and Museum. Immediately to the west of the park is Bridgestone Arena, where the Country Music Association presents its 44th annual awards Nov. 10, three days after the Walk of Fame ceremony.

Two of the new inductees, Mel Tillis and Kris Kristofferson, were regulars at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, a bar just two blocks away from the park where country stars and songwriters gathered regularly during the 1960s. Kris and Mel will co-host a celebration of Tootsie’s 50th anniversary at the Ryman with Terri Clark the same night they join the Walk of Fame.

The new entries bring the total number of plaques in the Walk to 48. A few of the previous inductees: Reba McEntire, Marty Stuart, Steve Wariner, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Ronnie Milsap, Trace Adkins, Dolly Parton, Josh Turner and Martina McBride.

RASCAL FLATTS CHOSEN FOR STAR ON HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

Nashville - (June 17, 2010) - It was announced today that vocal group Rascal Flatts was chosen for a 2011 star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame by the Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The band was selected from hundreds of nominations sent to the committee at a meeting held earlier this week.

“I am at such a loss for words that I can't even describe how I feel,” says lead singer Gary LeVox. “What a great honor and symbol of accomplishment. To have only wanted to make music since childhood this far exceeds any expectations I ever had. I am so humbled and grateful to God for all of his blessings and this amazing gift He's given us called music. Thanks to all who made this possible, especially our family and fans for making a dream a reality. You really can touch a star!”

“There are only a few things I can think of that are as big of an honor as receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” shared Jay DeMarcus, background vocalist and bass player. “I am so humbled, filled with gratitude and completely overcome with emotion.... I guess we've really done something afterall...”

Lead guitarist and background vocalist Joe Don Rooney said, "This is the kind of stuff you dream of growing up as a kid. Having our name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has to be one of the coolest things that's ever happened to Rascal Flatts. I'm honored and completely humbled."

Additional 2011 musical recipients include Melissa Etheridge, Los Tigres Del Norte, the Go-Go’s, Slash, Will i Am, and Bebe & Cece Winans and posthumously Buddy Holly and Louis Prima. And more celebrities from motion pictures, television and live performance theatre were also named.

Date of the presentation for Rascal Flatts has not yet been determined and will be announced at another time.
